Obviously You Are New To TV
Going too far? When was the last time you watched TV lady? And who is it going too far for? Considering the basic content of GA, I can't see that 'lust' scene going to far for the viewers. Think about it. That show openly deals with infidelity (McDreamy), promiscuity (Meredith), and what about the scene a couple weeks ago between Burke and Christina. Burke was all upset because he didn't "finish" because Christina fell asleep during sex. I just think that when you consider the context of a show, certain scenes should not come as a surprise and/or insult your eyes. Make up your mind. If you are going to watch 'trash' you are going to see 'trash'.

Off topic, but WTF is up with Mappy and her constant bashing of The DaVinci Code? She is SO obsessed with the book and movie. What cracks me up is that if I tell a student four times to "Please be quiet" and then the fifth time say "shut up", that child gets offended and tells me "I'm telling my mother you said that". My response is always "tell her to teach you some manners and we won't have a problem with telling you to shut up".

I have a niece and nephew who continually push their parents. They know their parents won't do anything to keep them in line. However, they know that when my dh talks that they better respond and quickly. (BTW he has never laid a hand on them.....but they do respect/fear him over their parents.)

I teach my children that sex is a normal and healthy part of a committed relationship. If my 30 yr old child was living with a SO and not having sex, yes, I would think that was weird.
I realy believe that in order to determine if you're truly compatible with someone, you have to test out all the ways you need to be compatible. The sexual facet of a relationship is important and I would not enter into a lifetime commitment without finding out if the sex was good first. When I think of the perfectly sweet and nice and loving boyfriend I had in college who was terrible in the sack, I shudder. What if I had married the guy before I knew he was awful in bed? And trust me, I gave things a good long time to improve in the bedroom - two years was enough. I tried everything I could think of to make things better but he and I just never clicked between the sheets. I freely confess that's why I broke up with him. I would kill myself if I had to endure a lifetime of terrible sex.
I know that doesn't fit with a lot of Peas' worldview but it is mine and has worked fine for me. I have been married a very long time and my husband and I still are wild for each other. I know you can have a great sex life if you marry as a virgin but that's not something I'm going to push on my children. Most of the people I know who place a lot of emphasis on remaining "pure" until marriage get married barely out of their teens. You're horny when you're 20. But if ten years later you're still denying yourself the sexual satisfaction most adults enjoy that's just odd. What if poor annoying (and we all agree she is annoying as hell) Mappy never lands a husband. What if she's 40 and still a virgin? 50? Might as well go ahead and become the nun we know is bursting to get out of her.

OP here. I was asking about the standard for TV. If I watch Will and Grace I'm not expecting boy-behind-boy sex ala Brokeback Mountain because it is TV. In fact, except for some breasts, I saw the same amount of sex in Brokeback as I did on GA. It was a conversational post and I didn't expect everyone to agree.
