People only say shit about Keri because they are jealous of what she has. That is complete bullshit.
Keri has a large house with pricey items. With that comes a large mortgage payment, high utilities bills, a lot of dusting, sweeping, moping and vacuuming. She has a lot of landscaping and a pool. All of that takes a lot of maintenance that she will either have to spend her time doing or pay someone to do. And maybe Keri doesn't mind doing all that cleaning and/or spending her money to pay someone to do it and if that's the case then great for her. For others, like myself, I can think of other ways I would like to spend my time and my money.
Kate1, not everyone needs or even wants what Keri has in order to feel fortunate. I love my house, it is nice and the perfect size for my family. My S/O and I both drive vehicles that are practical and do the jobs we need them to do. In our family, the ability to have one parent stay home to raise the children and not have to struggle to live on a single income is something that is priceless to us. Not having to have strangers raise our kids is what makes us very fortunate people.
So then what exactly am I jealous of? I talk about Keri the way I do because I honestly believe that Keri thinks what she has makes her better than others. Not everyone who has the means to have what Keri has, wants to have it. For me, to have what she has would mean a lot of wasted space, wasted money and wasted time and that would make me a less fortunate person.
It might be about jealousy for some, but not for everyone.

I've stayed out of the Keriwest conversation, because it bores me and I really don't care about her house or money or anything else about her. I am amused at her constantly bringing up that people talk about her and "bash" her, but that's about the extent of my interest.
However, I was flipping through the channels the other night and stopped on Roseanne. It was one of the later episodes, way after it jumped the shark, you know, after they won the lottery.
It occurred to me that Keri's decorating style is similar to Roseanne's, post lottery. The bed is almost exactly the same as Keri's and they filled the house with tacky "expensive" crap.
Oh come on! While Keri's taste may not be mine, my style of decorating certainly isn't for everyone either! Why is it okay to criticize someone else's likes/dislikes? For me, you'd be wrong. My doctor dh makes an incredible salary but he also sees people everyday turned away in his hospital because of lack of healthcare. We could not in good conscience take lavish vacations and live in a 5000 sq ft house or even have a closet full of Gucci purses when there are literally people dying because they can't afford their medications/treatments.
My family lives on $150,000 per year in a 2100 sq foot home valued at about $200,000. The remainder of our income (about 80%) funds a free clinic. We have everything we need & it is in our opinion shameful to turn our backs on others who don't simply so we can acquire more *stuff* that is not really going to enrich our lives anyway. I agree with blogger, a bigger house is more to clean and I'm not interested.

I suspect the recent attack against Senator Kerry actually has to do with the inevitable release of the casualty count from this massive attack on and subsequent explosions at a weapons storage compound in Iraq.
The numbers of dead and wounded have not been released yet for political reasons, but I suspect they will push the count for deaths during the month of October well over 400.

There are parts of Texas that remind me of what I think hell might look like. Pretty much the entire panhandle is ugly, brown, flat, and totally lifeless. And because of the oil industry, it smells like a huge fart. Witchita is more like the asshole than the armpit. The bible-thumping wackos in that area really do frighten me.
But parts of the Gulf Coast are gorgeous, the piney woods of east Texas are beautiful, and the hill country is bucolic and lovely.
Texas is so big that you can't say it's all one thing or another. Even in states people picture as gorgeous in their heads, like Colorado, have vast butt-ugly and decrepit swaths where no sane person wants to live. It's not all Rocky Mountains and icy-cold streams.
