Get Some Self Control
Why do peas come to the board to ask the other peas to "talk them out of" buying something? Especially when you need the money for something more important and you are wanting to waste it ugly and/or non essential items? I think it says a lot when you have to have people tell you not to spend 100.00 on some gawd awful looking salvation army shoes instead of saving the money for a car you want. Learn some self control and how to better manage money. We would have a drop in welfare numbers if the government started paying people to teach some people how to better manage their money instead of writing government checks.

The OP on that thread is a high schooler. How seriously are we supposed to take her?
She's a good kid, works hard, does well in school. I get the feeling that she doesn't get a lot of family support which is why she turns to peas.
She's getting great suggestions from the peas too. I hope she doesn't buy them, they are pretty ugly.
Sometimes you really like something, but know it's expensive and need another opinion to say it's not worth it.

Those shoes are soooo ugly. If you are going to spend $100 on some shoes they should at least be leather and not patchwork embroidered predirtied keds!
They're hideous! It looks like grandma took an old quilt and some canvas and shaped them into ugly deck shoes. If you're going to get $100 shoes get quality, classic ones that you can wear for more than a month. Silly little girl.
I personally would not spend $100 on these shoes, but is you have the money and love then, them get them.
You do not need justifiction form anyone, go on, get them, I bet that they will look sssooo cute.
$100 well spent if they make you feel good.

Oh the highschool part explains it. I bought my DD a pair of purple boots that were 100, but they were leather and looked pretty damn cool.
