Help With What?
He is 3 and doesn't want his birthday to be celebrated. Respect it. Buy him something and just give it to him and don't make a fuss. I see no reason to try and find a way to talk him into wanting a birthday other than the parents wanting it- and it isn't about them, is it? Leave him alone already. You are just making it worse for him. Keep pushing and he will never want to celebrate his birthday.
Again, he is 3.

What a smart little guy!! Finally someone realizes that your birthday is not a national holiday!! EVERYONE has one! Go have a nice dinner and be done with it.
A lady I work with mentioned 3 times in one day that her birthday was over the weekend. Damn! Who cares!?

And I am not going to force the birthday on him at all.. never had thought of that. He got a card in the mail today from his great granny with some money and he was so excited. He asked what it was for, and I told him it was for his birthday! He got angry and said "No! I don't want birthday!!"
Silly boy. I think we'll just have a nice dinner and give him some potato chips (his favorite food) for dessert.
Blogger needs to keep up.
I wonder if he associates birthdays with spankings? Maybe he's heard stories about it. I remeber dreading my birthdays because I would have to endure the traditional swats. I opted to never do that with my own child.
Gawd I need to forward this to some of my adult friends. They act like a 3 yr old when it is their birthday! ME! ME! ME!
damn, who spends a grand on a freaking kid's birthday party?
what's mom's problem? is she upset she won't get to throw some fabulous party everyone will be talking about for years? or that she can't brag on the board about how much she spent on gifts?
poor little kid
He's THREE. He's a stupid fucking kid, he doesn't know what he wants.
