Thank you all for the prayers you have been offering up on my behalf.
I'm sorry my posts have been so cryptic. I trust everyone here but the details are a little embarassing, and I know that we still do have a mole and I just couldn't bear for this to end up all over peas.
Todd broke my trust in a very significant way. Out of respect for him, I'll spare the details, but suffice it to say, the discovery broke my heart. I walked out the night I found out and went to a girlfriend's house and just cried and cried. I came back in the wee hours of the morning. I said goodbye when he left but I couldn't bring myself to engage him at all. Yesterday was like a walking dream...nightmare. I just wanted it to all go away. I talked to a few friends and I asked Todd to talk to a few of his and to go to the Pastor, which he did.
I shut him out for most of the day and I just thought, and prayed, and talked through it with people.
Finally last night I had a sense of peace and I was able to forgive him. We talked a lot, and we prayed for restoration and healing. I now that these next several months will be hard, but by the grace of God, I will not allow the Devil to use this to tear us apart any further. For better or worse, Todd is my husband and I love him, and that's the bottom line. Everything else is negotiable, but that isn't.
I'm the kind of person where I usually am quick to forgive anyway. It's very hard for me to stay upset at someone. But though I can forgive, it is usually followed by fear (of future hurt) and I'm praying against that right now. I cannot live in fear.
So, we're taking it one day at a time. I slept a lot last night--over 10 hours. The Lord quieted my heart and my fears and granted me rest. I woke up this morning completely different than I was yesterday morning. I know there is a long road ahead, and I know some days I'll feel 10 times worse than I do today, and other days will be filled with triumph. But my God has my future in His hands and that calms me.
Thank you for allowing me to lean on you. Thank you in advance for the times you will allow me to do it in the coming months in moments of weakness or fear. Thank you for your encouragement and your prayers. Thank you for your friendship and your unconditional support. I love and respect you all.
ETA: Another prayer request. I'm quick to forgive, but I hate conflict and stress and so I prefer to forget rather than to cope, so please pray for the strength and wisdom to confront the issue when I need to so that it doesn't rear its head down the road, unattended to.
