Was There Any Explanation?
I was reading this thread about the store calling her wanting her to bring something back. Does she explain somewhere in the responses how the manager could have possibly known how to get in touch with her? Her story seems odd to me. First the manager would have had to be informed that the items were sold with the bag. Unless the manager was specifically looking for the items, I don't see the cashier telling her she sold the items in the bag. Then the manager would have to go through all the credit card receipts in order to find the sale of that particular bag. Is the credit card receipt even itemized? Even if my some miracle she had located the receipt, she would have had to contact the credit card company to get the customers phone number. Credit card receipts give the type of card, not where it is issued from so how did she even know what card company to call? And even if she had managed to track down that kind of info I don't think the company would have given her a phone number.
This whole story seems very odd to me.

The manager could have just called information and given the woman's name. The cashier would have remembered who it was (cashiers tend to remember things like that). Maybe the cashier asked if what she did was right. The manager said no and that lead to the investigation and calling of this woman.
Doesn't really seem odd to me because Tuesday Morning isn't exactly...well, you know what I mean.
Yeah, something isn't right about that story. Tuesday Morning is a closeout store, I have my doubts as to whether they would even know there were "extra" items in a bag at the top of the shelf.
Now maybe, just maybe, the cashier started thinking about it and got worried. Or someone came in and wanted to buy the bigger bag that clearly stated it had extra items included, but they weren't in there, so the cashier remembered the earlier customer who had free items in a bag that wasn't supposed to.
Stores do sometimes ask for zip codes and phone numbers for marketing purposes, maybe they did that?

I didn't think about all that, but I did call BS that she thought those items came with it. Any true scrapbooker knows the MSRP of totes, paper takers, etc. She knew those items shuoldn't have been in there, she was trying to scam the store.

I used to work retail. A merchant can easily get a customers home number from the CC company. We've done that before when one of our customers forgot their credit card and driver's license in the store.
Also it's not hard to match up the credit card reciept with the register reciept. Some stores also ask for your phone number when you check out or when you pay with a credit card. She might have even gotten her number from their mailing list or called 411 and got her number that way.
The manager could have also realized the other items were missing from the store when she did a inventory check. Or maybe another customer tried to purchase the same thing and that cashier or the manager was asked about it and then they realized the mistake then.

I was at the hospital by 11pm. By 12, I was admitted, 1am I was out of my shower, with my sister and hubby by my side. My contractions were uneven and I wanted things to get moving, so I opted for a low Pitocin drip. By 1:30am, my contractions were intense and regular!
I labored DRUG-FREE (pain relief wise) the whole time...only asking for drugs in the throws on my contractions.My RN, Heather, pulled my sister aside early in my labor and asked if I was serious about not using drugs. She actually told my sister that she didn't think I could do it!! BUT... this is not a vent... in fact, I am so amazed that she pulled off telling me that I was a champion and that she knew I could do it... her encouragement really made me pull through, when I never thought I could!
I was taken off the Pitocin at 4:30 and allowed to get back in the shower with my hubby. I labored for another hour or so in there and went back to my bed before 5:45.
