I am not even going to bother to read all 3 pages on Sass' 'late for school' thread. I saw a response where someone said it's almost like Sass sets her kids up so that she can "ha ha" in their face. I have always gotten that same feeling when I read her threads involving punishment and her kids.
Isn't Sass a stay at home mom? Why the fuck is she making her kids sweep and vacuum every morning before school? We already know she doesn't do anything to get her kids up and ready for school, so she sits on her ass at the computer while her kids are cleaning her house before spending 8 hours at school? That would totally suck. I can understand them making their beds and the usual getting ready for school stuff, but loading the dishwasher, sweeping and vacuuming? Can't they be assigned those chores for the weekend if they don't have time after school?
I just don't get it. The people who say Sass is a great mother must have had some really fucked up childhoods.

The answer is simple, Sass talks about treating her kids badly again and again! The other person, Hunzer I believe, said that and it was an isolated incident. Almost every time Sass gets on the board it is to mock and belittle her kids.
She doesn't see it but her kids will ultimately pay the price.
By the way, just because she uses the therapist card, it doesn't mean shit. There are plenty of really shitty therapists out there and this sounds like one of them.

Vacuuming the house before school seems a little weird to me. But if her kids have tons of after-school activities, like sports practice, maybe chores in the morning works out best for her family.
She seems kind of militant about it but with the kids she has, a structured environment is probably better them. Stability, unwavering expectations, and predictable consequences are good things for kids from chaotic backgrounds.
I still think she's nuts but I can kind of see why an iron fist in this area is maybe not such a terrible thing.

Just watch. Since so many people pointed out to her about how much negative stuff she posts about her kids she'll try to post a couple of lame positive things in the next day or so. I did foster care here in Michigan I can assure you it was ALOT more than that!! We had to take classes for 12 weeks, go through a very extensive home study, psychological evaluations, physicians evaluations and a VERY formal interview. Must be alot easier other places!

She is the most horrific person and I think the adoption system in whatever messed up state she lives in should be dismantled and rebuilt for allowing her to adopt three children. I have a hard time believing a licensed (very important) therapist is okay with leaving a 10 year old home alone. That is not even legal where I live and I am betting it isn't legal where she lives, either.
Knowing they have overslept and not doing anything about it is simply inexcusable and the fact that she doesn't mention any of the other kids attempting to wake her speaks volumes about the dynamics of that house as well.
My boys would never leave the other out to dry by letting them oversleep and be late for school.
Leca is going to end up with some kids who are going to run as far from her as they can when they get a little older.

I believe if I remember right their birthmom was a crack whore and didn't even feed them.

I agree. Carrie and her husband are educated so most likely her parents are too, and by age 55 they should be able to spare $4000 to send their dd and sil on a much needed vacation.
Most peas are working class and have never left the US and think anyone who travels is rich. Not true.
I think Sass adopted those kids when they were older and "special needs" - and the requirements to adopt those kids aren't as stringent because agencies are desperate to find them homes. It still remains, however, that Sass is a certified fruit cake. I don't know why she adopted a bunch of kids with emotional and physical problems, and I sure don't see her doing anything that will improve their situation long term. In fact, I'm beginning to think that she, deep down, regrets the adoption decision and is taking it out on the kids by being such a total bitch to them (under the guise of "instilling discipline").
I see them all running like hell from her when they are 17-18 years old.

The comments on this blog are a great example as to why we have so many little brats running around in our society. So some kids have to do a few light chores before school starts and it's suddenly slave labor? Come on people.
Maybe if some of you parents were a bit more strict and actually made your kids do something other than to play video games and get whatever the hell they want, they wouldn't be such rude, demanding, clueless kids like so many are today.
A little bit of responsibility is a good thing, and certainly doesn't make a person a bad parent. I think that you all are just trying to take anything that Sass says and turn it into a bad thing because she does tend to be so annoying.

LOL Fern is one of those "cradle to hubby" peas that's never lived life on her own. Anyone find it odd she married a man 10 years her senior while in high school? It reminds me of a local cop that got busted in our town that used to cruise our local high school and date one of the students there. Very creepy. She was a senior and turned 18 but still... EWWWWWWWW! Ferns hubby seems like a big deadbeat that never likes to do anything with her. I give them maybe another 6 years....if that. She'll grow up, wise up, then look back at that and say...what was I thinking!

Actually, it's the exact opposite. Living in a foreign country for a few years and adapting to the cultures and learning the language is a far cry from visiting for a few days and having a few photo OP's with some of the famous landmarks.

ITA All the people I know that lived abroad growing up, going to the American school (have lost contact with all their school friends) are just plain weird. They're not a military brat, but a self-important person with worldly experience.
I seriously doubt their parents bothered to learn the local language and only hung out with other ex-pats in their exclusive society. Yeah they really experienced life abroad!

There's something very sad about a person who never had their own independent life. Once Fern gets into the real work-a-day world grind, she's going to regret not having her own life before she got married. She's always lived her life dependent on others when that changes, so will her marriage.

She's weird and I don't quite get her. She likes to be on top of all the drama, yet doesn't actively participate being mean to people. She's very religious. So I think her phone call was either sincere and/or curious if the story was true.
I don't think she ever hated Sass or had any feelings toward her one way or the other. She took a lot of heat for that phone call so she's had to rebuild her image so I think part of that is being friendly with Sass.
What I don't get about this Sass things is that she just let her DD oversleep. Did she check on her to see if she was o.k.? Maybe her alarm was broken? I know that I've been in a really deep sleep and haven't heard my alarm for 10-15 minutes. She doesn't even give her kid the benefit of the doubt. What was so wrong with opening DD's door one time and saying "Honey, time to get up". If DD didn't get up then she's punished.
This is why I get the impression, like others do, that she really enjoys it when her kids screw up.

She posted about washing her kid's mouth out with soap for cussing. Cue the pile on. Ok, so I wouldn't do it. My kids got a swat on the ass. Of course there are those who will tell you that both are abuse. Chances are that their kids are the ones running wild.
So we have a pile on, followed by many curse words by Sass. How dare she stand up for her self and tell them all to take a flying fuck at a rolling donut???
Feeling sorry, she later tries to come back to 2 peas and start again - but we can't have that, can we. So I think that's where the fake suicide comes in.
Now here is where it gets interesting. They researched her on the internet and phoned her at home!?!? WTF is up with that? Who's more psycho? The bitch who hairflips on the internet? Or the stalker who phones her home and talks to her KID ON THE PHONE?
