She is really young, just graduated college, and when you're 22 or 23, fresh diploma in hand, you really think you own the fucking world. You're grown up, you're *SO* much smarter than you were when you were a kid, and people should start respecting your opinions.
But she hasn't lived and knows nothing about life. I give her a pass most of the time because when you're young, you're supposed to be passionate and idealistic about things. Then after you've been out in the real world a while, you blush when you remember how cocky you were at 25.

You're reading hostility in my post when there isn't any. I never said a young person couldn't have an intelligent opinion. But Ashley in particular is one of those young people who give me the impression she is on a mission to make the world better, that the adults she's seen have fucked things up royally so it's up to determined young people like her to fix things. This manifests itself in her sometimes sounding like a know-it-all and lecturing people who have a lot more life experience than she does.
Many people have wisdom beyond their years but most of the time these people don't work so hard to convince others.
Ashley is smart and determined and I think she will do wonderful things with her life. But she's a little wet behind the ears yet and needs to grow up a little, that's all.
