Hey I am the first to admit that newborns aren't beauties. But they are precious and certainly to be loved! My kids looked like hairy little monkeys when they were first born. I didn't love them any less!

The thread title was very tongue in cheek, and if you read the post I said
"I am going to scan in pics of the boys later today after dinner."
Digital photo technology simply did not exist when my boys were little, so after I cooked dinner, I went and scanned in a picture of my oldest son. My younger son was looking at his baby book the other day and he doesn't remember where he put it.
However all this doesn't surprise me, I got crap for starting a thread stating that my kids are beautiful and now I get crap when I joke about a newborn being ugly.

Again Stephanie, there was another thread which is properly linked to in my other comment which is a thread full of people talking about how funny looking newborn babies are. The title of the thread is "s/o: if your baby was ugly, would you know?" The original thread is full of people calling their own children ugly, however if you were to read the thread you would see that I proclaim mine to be beautiful. It's tongue in cheek and simply a chance for people to share newborn pictures.

UM All his baby pictures are scrapped in his baby scrapbook. As I stated here

He likes to look at his scrapbook of baby pictures. We were trying to pick out a baby picture to scan in for his yearbook and he went off with it to look at it.
I don't keep the scrapbooks under lock and key and I love the fact that he likes to go and read his baby books. I don't see how that makes me a bad mom, I scrapped the pictures, I keep them in the book, and my son loves seeing the pictures and reading the stories.

Thanks I know I don't, I honestly just don't get how they can see the words on this page and just ignore them - it's written out in black and white and they pick and choose what words they see and what they don't. I figure if I spell it out they might get it...

I had one very beautiful newborn, who was 42 weeks gestation-gorgeous skin, coloring, the works.
I had one ugly (yes, I said it!) newborn who was 5 weeks early-red, wrinkly, skinny, hairy back (seriously!).
Did I love one more than the other? Of course not! But objectively-yes, some babies are ugly. I fail to see how recognizing that makes anyone a bad mother.
